Using an AI Agent Inside TouchDesigner

Getting started with the Embody toolkit, featuring Dylan Roscover

Rarely do I find myself feeling utterly charmed by any piece of software, let alone a development toolkit, but I've been really enjoying using Embody and its bundled Envoy MCP server for TD these days. Embody itself is centered around the idea of "externalizing" your operator networks as YAML files rather than the traditional binary .toe/tox files we're used to working with.

Externalizing banana components with Embody
We export our Banana components as YAML-format .tdxn files

When we serialize our network as text, in addition to playing nicely with Git and other version control systems, we get nice a nice speed boost agentic workflows along with lower token usage.

This one was loads of fun! I am especially and eternally delighted by Embot, the adorable Embody mascot who hops around your TouchDesigner network while scaffolding your project, bringing fresh air to an already maturing agentic ecosystem. Many thanks to Dylan Roscover for this awesome open-source tool, and to the Interactive & Immersive HQ as always for putting me on.
